We are created for filmmakers, by filmmakers.
From an outside look, Las Vegas would seem to have very little indigenous film culture. But that is far from the truth. There are a lot of nomadic groups and production houses scattered around our valley. Each group seems to operate as an island and doesn’t always see the other filmmakers around them. Therein lies the problem. Even when a film is completed, where would a filmmaker show their films to get a local public response.
Underground Vegas Film is designed to help build a community from our scattered filmmakers. We want to help every filmmaker, actor, producer, director, sound designer, composer, FX artist and all other individuals interested in film find each other, get to know one another and start to create stronger productions with diverse specialties. We want to create a community that looks after one another and supports each other the way only independent artists can.
With that very tall order comes giving filmmakers a place they would be proud to premiere their films. It also includes creating areas where like-minded people can find each other, creating more opportunities for filmmaking.
As people who spend our own money and work very hard at film we should also celebrate our work together, support one another and have more fun participating in this craft.
