FEBRUAURY 19 th SCREENING/MIXER 2006

The night from the eyes of UVF Commissioner Denny Morales:

So I'm driving around with my wife downtown thinking ‘wow this side of town is a little creepy'. I'm heading towards the Bunkhouse for our Second Screening/Mixer.

I pull up, walk in and Aaron Ross the Founder of the UVF greets me along with a few others. We start moving around hooking stuff up getting things going. I look around thinking to myself ‘where is everyone hmm'. I had to step out really quick to grab something for the video deck. As I returned I noticed a lot more people strolling in. Dan Krenik walks in from outside and tells me that there weren't many people, he goes outside again and BAM, the mixer starts getting busy. We ended up with about 70 people that night.

As we got ready to play the first little UVF promo video, I stepped towards the back of the bar, and started thinking about  what I was going to say to everyone once I stepped up to the mic.  The Funny UVF video ends and Aaron gives me the cue, so I hit the lights pick up the mic, and go at it. I do my chants try and hype up the crowds. I do ok I guess, but they just want to see films, and not listen to my silly mug. So I say roll them films, and there off. 

After the films everyone networked, mingled, and just had a blast. We had a great response overall which is good for the Vegas film scene. I stayed for as long as I could, then I gave Aaron and whoever was in the room the old wave goodnight.
